Another cold and overcast day in Florence today. This morning we did some more sightseeing around the city and in the afternoon went on a tour to Pisa, which is about 80kms out of Florence. At Pisa, we visited the "miracle square", a term given to the area by an Italian poet, to describe the miraculous arrangement of buildings - the Baptistry, Cathedral, Tower, hospital and cemetery. The main feature of course was the leaning tower, and it certainly is on quite a lean. We were hoping to be able to climb the 294 steps to the top, but tickets and numbers are strictly limited, and the next available spot was too late for us to do the climb and still get our bus back. So we had to settle for the usual tourist thing and take photos of us pretending to push the tower back up straight! So that's today's photos - plus one showing the Baptistry, Cathedral and Leaning Tower.
